Members & roles
Manage your team — invite people, understand roles, assign permissions, handle join requests, and set your login policy.
Your organisation on WAQAF is a team. The people you add become members, and what each member can see and do is decided by the roles you give them. This section gathers everything about managing that team in one place: inviting new people, understanding what each role allows, assigning and changing roles, handling people who ask to join, removing someone who has left, and controlling how everyone signs in.
Who can do this. Managing members — inviting, changing roles, and removing people — is reserved for the organisation Owner and Admin. Other roles can see the member list but not change it. If the role controls are missing for you, your role doesn't allow member management; ask an owner or admin. See Roles & permissions reference.
Where to find it
Open Settings → Members from the dashboard. You'll see two tabs — Active members and Pending invitations — along with the invite form. Join requests and your login policy live in the same settings area.
How roles work
A few things are worth knowing before you start, because they explain a lot of what you see (and don't see) around the dashboard:
- Roles are multi-assignable. One person can hold several roles at once — for example Accountant and Site Editor. Their permissions add up, so they can do everything any of their roles allows.
- The server decides; the screen follows. WAQAF enforces every permission on the server. The dashboard simply hides buttons and pages a role can't reach — so a "missing" button is usually your role doing its job, not a bug.
- Balances are sensitive. Whether someone sees actual balance figures depends on their role. A Finance Manager, CEO or Auditor can see the numbers; an Accountant may see only whether there is enough in a fund, never the amount.
- Owner is protected. The Owner role can't be edited or removed from the member list, and every organisation must always keep at least one owner.
Roles control access to real money and personal donor data. Give each person the narrowest role that lets them do their job, and reserve Owner and Admin for the few people who genuinely run the organisation.
