Switching language
Switch the WAQAF dashboard between English and Arabic, with right-to-left layout applied automatically for Arabic.
WAQAF speaks both English and Arabic, and you can switch between them whenever you like. This is a personal preference: changing it affects only your own view, not your colleagues'. You'd do this when you'd rather read the dashboard in your own language, or to check how something reads in the other one.
Who can do this. Anyone signed in can switch their own language — there is no role requirement, because the language is a personal account preference, not an organisation setting. It changes only what you see; everyone else keeps the language they chose.
Where to find it. The language toggle lives in your account menu — select your name or avatar (at the bottom of the sidebar, or the top corner on a narrow screen) to open it.
Switch language from the account menu
Open your account menu
Select your name or avatar to open the menu. You'll see your name and email at the top, then rows for Language and Colour mode.
Choose your language
Next to Language is a small pill with two segments: EN for English and ع for Arabic. Select the segment for the language you want. The highlight slides across to mark your choice.
Watch the dashboard switch
WAQAF reloads in your chosen language straight away. Every label, button, heading, and message changes — and for Arabic the whole layout flips to right-to-left, so navigation, menus, and tables read naturally from right to left. There's no Save button here; the choice takes effect as soon as you select it.
You can also change your language from Account settings → Your language, where the same choice appears as a dropdown list. The two are interchangeable — picking a language in either place updates the other and is remembered for your next visit.
What changes when you switch
- The whole interface is translated. WAQAF is fully bilingual, so menus, buttons, form labels, validation messages, and notifications all appear in the language you chose.
- Arabic lays out right-to-left. Choosing Arabic doesn't only translate the words — it mirrors the layout, so the sidebar, alignment, and reading order all flip to suit Arabic.
- Money still reads the same way. Amounts are shown in Omani Rial to three decimal places (for example, 200.000) in both languages; switching language changes the labels around a figure, never the figure itself.
Content you've written stays bilingual on its own. Things your organisation authors — such as your public website's page titles and text, or fund names — are stored in both languages through bilingual fields, and you edit each language separately. Switching your dashboard language doesn't translate that content for you; it shows whichever language version exists. See Your website for how bilingual content is edited.
Printed documents have their own language choice. Receipts, vouchers, and reports aren't tied to your dashboard language — each print has its own per-print English/Arabic (or both) option, chosen at the moment you print. So you can read the dashboard in English yet print an Arabic receipt. See Bilingual printing.
