Your website
Build and run your charity's public donation website from the dashboard — pages, projects, news, branding, domains, and payment methods.
Your organisation can publish its own public website — the place where supporters read about your work, browse your programmes and projects, and give. You build and run all of it from the Website section of the dashboard, without any code. This page is the map: it explains how the website fits together and points you to the guide for each part.
You will find the Website section in the sidebar once your organisation has a site (or the permission to create one). Everything you publish there lives under your own web address, separate from the WAQAF dashboard your staff sign in to.
Who can do this. Website work is gated by site roles. The Site Manager can do everything here — create the site, edit every page, publish, and manage domains, payment methods, and messaging. A Site Editor can create and edit pages, theme, and SEO, but cannot publish or manage domains and payments. A Site Viewer can look but not change anything. Organisation Owners and Org Admins have full access too. If you don't see the Website section, your role doesn't include it — see Members & roles.
Where to find it
In the dashboard sidebar, open Website. Its sub-menu gives you everything: Pages, Programs & Projects, Sponsorships, News, Library, and Settings. WhatsApp messaging lives next door under Communication.
How a website fits together
Think of your site in three layers.
- The pages are the fixed parts of the site — Home, About, Contact, Governance, and the landing pages that introduce your Programmes, Projects, Sponsorships, News, and Library. You edit each one and choose which appear on the live site.
- The collections are the changing parts — the individual programmes, projects, sponsorship cases, news posts, and library documents you add over time. Each lives in its own manager and shows up automatically on its landing page.
- The settings are the look and the plumbing — your colours and logo, your search-engine details, your footer, your web address, and the payment methods that let people actually give.
You can build the whole thing in draft first and only publish when you are ready. While a site is unpublished, nothing is visible to the public.
Building your site
Start here if your organisation is setting up its website for the first time, then move on to the pages and the things you list on them.
Creating your site
Set up your website for the first time and choose your web address.
Editing your pages
Edit Home, About, Contact, Governance, and the landing pages, and choose which appear live.
Publishing & preview
See your changes before they go live, then publish the whole site or a single page.
What you list on it
These are the collections — the items supporters browse and give towards. Add as many as you like; each one appears on its landing page automatically.
Projects
Add the projects supporters can read about and donate to.
Programs
Group your work into programmes that each gather their own projects.
Sponsorship cases
Publish kafala cases supporters can sponsor.
News posts
Share updates, stories, and announcements with your supporters.
Library & documents
Publish reports, policies, and downloadable documents for the public.
Look, address, and giving
The settings that shape how your site appears, where it lives, and how people give. Most of these sit under Website → Settings.
Theme & branding
Set your colours, logo, and the overall look of the site.
SEO settings
Control the title and description search engines and social shares show.
The site footer
Edit the contact details and links that appear at the bottom of every page.
Custom domains
Connect your own web address, such as your charity's .org domain.
Payment methods
Connect a payment gateway so supporters can give online.
WhatsApp messaging
Set up WhatsApp so donors hear from you on the channel they use most.
Giving needs a payment method. A published site with no payment method connected can still be read, but supporters won't be able to donate online. Connect a payment method before you announce your site — see Payment methods.
